Events at Staines Library
Staines Library has a host of regular events with something to suit all ages and interests. Here are a few of them:
Pebble Rhymetime
- Every Monday from 10.30am to 11am
- Every Wednesday from 10.30am to 11am
- Every Friday from 10.30am to 11am
- Every Saturday from 10.30am to 11am

Reading Groups
Chatterbooks reading group
- First Sunday of every month at 2.30pm
- For children aged 7-11 years
Just sign up beforehand either at the library or by emailing staines.library@surreycc.gov.uk with: child's name, your daytime phone number.

Lavender Lit reading group
- Last Saturday of every month from 2.30pm to 3.30pm
- LGBTQ+ raeding group
To sign up, either go to the desk or email staines.library@sureeycc.gov.uk. You can collect a copy of the current book from the desk.

Other Events
Quiet hours
- Every Tuesday from 10am to midday
Quiet and calm times for those with sensory sensibilities, autism, dementia and more. During this period, staff will do their best to enforce a quieter atmosphere.
Poetry hub
- Every Monday from 11am to 1pm
Designed to be a haven for adults seeking connection and creativity through the power of poetry. From writing challenges to a cosy book club, each session is a chance to explore the beauty of language and share stories in a supportive community.
Watercolour workshop
- Every Wednesday from 10am to midday
Code club
- Every Wednesday during term time from 4.15pm to 5.15pm
- Every Thursday during term time from 4.15pm to 5.15pm
- For children aged 9-15 years
The children will learn digital skills by using programming language through various projects and also develop their creativity, logical thinking, collaboration, and communication.

Knit & Natter crafting group
- Alternate Wednesdays from 1.30pm to 3.30pm
All levels welcome. Either enquire at the library or pop along to the session.
Drop-in councillor surgeries
- First Saturday of the momth, 11am to 1pm

Digital Support Volunteer
- Every Thursday from 2pm to 4pm
