JOB OVERVIEW
General Duties: Reporting back to the security manager any incidents and issues. Being point of contact and lead when security manager is not on site. Patrolling the malls ensuring officers are present and alert. Fire escapes, service deck, back corridors, car parks checks(Fire escapes only) are carried out and logged. Making sure the officers carryout their duties as per site instructions. Advising tenants when necessary on management regulations, diffusing incidents and preventing occurrences, maintaining fire, Health and Safety Regulations and securing the premises. Shift to include control room management. In the course of your duty to aid the public and first aid (if qualified) using “customer care” procedures at all times. All duties to be carried out in adherence with the Elmsleigh Health and Safety policy. Care to be taken regarding personal appearance and hygiene at all times.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Point of contact and lead when security manager is not onsite.
Check Security officer’s turnout is of a high standard and SIA licences are displayed.
Team has booked on and any absentees report to Mitie Control.
Assist in training of staff.
Reporting any system and equipment failures.
Checking all paperwork is up to date.
Reporting back to Security manager and or Client any incident or issues.
Ensuring relief officers are familiarized and inducted on site.
Carryout tasks and assignments issued to him by the Security manager.
Monitoring of the centres CCTV system.
Control of contractors on and off site.
Monitoring and maintaining communications with other departments and the general public as well as other security departments within the town.
Monitoring fire systems and other critical centre systems.
Helping to maintain the integrity of the building.
Monitoring of access control systems.
Maintaining a daily occurrence book.
Logging incidents
Patrolling the Mall
Checking car park fire escapes are clear and reporting any damage.
Assisting with the organisation of patrol teams and the deployment of centre resources to any incidents.
General administrative duties
Assist with the delivery Mitie objectives.
Qualifications and Experience
Essential:
SIA CCTV Licence.
SIA Security or Door Supervisor Licence.
Desirable:
Previous experience in a similar post.
Experience with computerised fire control systems.
First aid qualifications. De-fib and 1 day first aid at work preferable.
COMPETENCIES
Good communication skills
